Oh, so many things I want to say in response to this article:

1) National Organization for Marriage (NOM) - How ironic that a family values organization chose an acronym that, given the right context, could be construed as a sex act involving the mouth (nom nom nom)…

2) “If we would correct the breakdown of the family by 1 percent…” - how in the hell do you measure 1% of the breakdown of the family? That’s like saying, “improve ice cream by 1%.” It doesn’t mean anything…

3) There actually is an argument to be made that encouraging non-essential purchases (such as registry gifts, flowers & banquet hall rentals) would actually HELP the economy.

4) I’m still not clear on what gay marriage has to do with heterosexuals…

“It costs you, the taxpayer, as high as $280 billion a year for fragmented families, according to the Family Research Council,” Scott told the crowd, citing a study from the D.C.-based Christian political association from May 2009.

If that is true, then why aren’t they crying to make divorce illegal. Indeed, since it has been shown that those who attend church regularly get divorced as often as those who don’t, why don’t they protest against churches for false advertisement wrt. marriage fidelity claims of religions?

And, if my memory serves me, isnt the Divorce rate highest in the South? And that the lowest rate is in Massachusetts, where the divorce is falling?

State sees economics of gay marriage

Consider these numbers: An estimated 32,200 same-sex couples from elsewhere would travel to the state to get married over the next three years. That would pump $111 million into the economy and yield another $5 million in marriage license fees and sales and occupancy taxes.

Chew on that, NOM. 9_9

Man, these loons are really reaching, aren’t they?

These morons are just bad liars who are desperate for any quasi-legitimate seeming reason to screen their biased hatred. Same thing for intelligent design and gateway drugs and gay marriage being a Threat to the Family and an Attack on Marriage (thank you frc for the quote). Asshole haters who will use any trick or subterfuge to push through their idiotic agenda.

Like all arguments against marriage for gay AMERICANS, it’s hollow and without a shred of reason.
